Program Overview: The camp is run by a trained staff of four, with added help from community volunteers. Starting at the beginning of July and ending in early August, the camp operates from 1:00 until 4:00 PM daily, and includes a complimentary afternoon snack. Each Camp week has a different theme with daily recreational activities including games, arts and crafts, fun learning and field trips, including an afternoon of recreation at a local swimming pool. The Camp concludes with a day full of games and play, and a barbeque party held at Windsor’s Mic Mac Park. Opportunities to Help:Windsor Homes Coalition Inc. has been operating its Kids Summer Day Camp as a community service for more than fifteen years. The Camp, and its caring staff, have been the source of happy memories for many hundreds of inner city children during that time. On-going delivery of the program and its enrichment is dependent of community support, more specifically, on the donations of money, goods, services and other helpful assistance that WHCI gratefully receives each year from Windsor businesses, community organizations and concerned individuals. Anyone interested in helping support the Kids Summer Day Camp, or in learning more about the program, should contact Deanna Deneau at 258-4501. |
